[daniandquin] I say this at least once a day ( I think “ll just save this in a doc). All intel is fluid, because the situation is fluid. Details and info can change in a matter of minutes. The intel providers check all their intel out- vet it, compare notes with other providers and other sources. Once they feel confident that that intel is solid, they bring it here. But that does not mean that 2 hours later the situation can’t change. The intel providers bring you the best information they can. If you don’t like it, or don’t believe it…. then that’s your choice.

He knew what was going on, spouted the   line. I asked him what branches of Bank of America handled currency exchange–asked if branch in Dallas. He told me that to validate the iraqi Dinar, need black light, strong white light, a magnifying Glass and a banker who had been trained. He told me had been trained the previous week. That was 2 weeks ago. He told me a private banker could meet me at that branch and he could verify dinar–IF –it became tradeable. Then he winked.

BOBGETZ6] My opinion is that there is no guru, intel provider, UST person, etc that knows EXACTLY when this is going to happen. Just a select few who have programmed in a PART or the code to go live.

[tdooly] The IQD “investment” is no different than any other investment as to Date and Rate. IF you know the date and rate in advance, it is a “savings” account, bond, CD, etc. Investments are ALL speculative and NOBODY ever knows the DATE and RATE. My largest return on any investment was one (land) that I held for 20+ YEARS. I have no idea as to date and rate when I purchased, I just knoew it would be long term. I hope the IQD is NOT 20+, but it has been 8+ for me. How much longer – do NOT know!

[Skyman] Gram yep. and we’ve been hear that statement for several months now… lol

Cardinal Nation: Tony had verbal confirmation of no tax, but he has not seen it in writing YET. There will be an(probably several) IRS rulings on this issue post rv. Until then plan on 35% if you have had dinar for under 1 year and 15% if you have had the dinar for longer than a year. This is where it gets a bit hazy. Some folks do not have a reciept some do. You will need to find a tax attorney post RV to clarify all of this.

My CPA said it could be a taxable event in the IRS’s eyes it might not be… I was told it comes down to the intent of the purchase. For example… If I plan on traveling to Iraq and it RVs prior to me leaving, then, no tax. But if I bought it for the purpose of an investment (which could be proven easily) then it is a taxable event.

I hope Tony’s sources are correct!!! That would be great. BTW: This should go without saying but…. Disclaimer. Get professional advice and do not listen to any of what I’m saying. Not that it means much, but in today’s world… Lol.

Lux40: I find the “not a taxable event” claim truly uncanny myself, however, one must consider that many of the people making the laws have Dinars also. It is in their collective best interest to declare the proceeds from this event “free and clear,” as amazing as it sounds. Of interest here are:

First though the non interest bearing Frank Dodd accounts mean all your money is insured vs the interest bearing at 1% and good for up to $ 250K FDIC. But here’s what we all need to realize. The  powers that be own all those four banks. Jonny suggested that we put our money in there but turn around and exchange it for other foreign currency so it’s not just sitting there.

shalala] Guys, this is just my 2 cents…but one thing to keep in mind is that the teller and personal banker will not be able to help you. The private bankers, brokers, and wealth managers are generally NOT in the bank. They have clients and rotate branches by appt/day. So appointment with one first is good idea.

shalala] Or get branch manager to help with cashin and follow with appt. with WM/PB

shalala] It isnt as easy as “ask for WM or PB” and have them help you cash out. Branch Mgr will have ability to negotiate rate.

halala] I would also quietly and with discretion…walk in and ask to speak to the Branch Manager. Ask them if you can speak in private. Only once door closed do you discuss why you are there and your needs, questions, demands. Dont pull out the dinar with the blinds/windows open. Ask for private back room.

[shalala] (1) I have a list of the 6 banks I will call, with their direct phone # and address, and their currency dept 800# to discuss base rates and ask about negotiation ability above $ 1M. I will call all to get a good idea of what I am dealing with before I walk in to my chosen bank

[shalala] (2) I have my paperwork, dinar, and copies of my dinar with serial #s I will have initialled and signed by bank to verify they received and validated my dinar

[shalala] (3) I have a list of things I would like to discuss in order to “keep” my money there, with rate being the most important factor and will tell my banker that (account password to hide largest one from tellers, rates on CDs and loans such as Prime+1 or Prime-1, fee waivers on all accounts, etc.)

BWM] in regards to new info for the day… we looked for a particular individual yesterday and found them exactly where we hoped they’d be… it looks as tho many issues are settled and it has come down to a LOT of expectations… no real “delays” or “issues” seem to be standing in the way of this so we just wait to see a final rate.
